Founder & CEO
Shan Mixon, MA, LPC
I have been a counselor in schools and private practice for over 20 years as the co-owner of Face to Face Communication LLC with my husband. I earned my BA in Social Sciences and Secondary Education from Western State University and my MA in Counseling Psychology from Northern Arizona University. With over 35 years of experience as both a teacher and school counselor, I am passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, biking, running, and playing pickleball. I have two grown children and have been married for 38 years.

My specialty is working with individuals ages 12-21, as well as providing adult therapy. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, incorporating other modalities as needed based on each client’s unique needs. I work with a variety of individuals facing mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, PTSD, trauma, and educational struggles or transitions

Founder & CEO
Bret Mixon, BCBA, CCC-SLP
I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Certified Speech-Language Pathologist with over 30 years of experience helping individuals and families improve communication and behavioral outcomes. My passion lies in guiding families toward meaningful, lasting changes by addressing both verbal and nonverbal communication, behavioral challenges, and cognitive development.
Having the privilege to work along side my wife as the co-owner of Face to Face Communication LLC I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with families, businesses, and school districts, providing tailored strategies to enhance communication, reduce behavioral challenges, and foster stronger relationships. I specialize in Social Styles and Versatility training, public speaking coaching, accent modification, and team development.
I am deeply committed to supporting families as they navigate speech, language, and behavioral challenges. Whether I’m helping a child develop functional communication skills, coaching parents on effective behavior management, or improving family dynamics through better interaction strategies, my goal is to provide practical, research-backed solutions that lead to real progress.
